Anti Gravitas

In almost every sport, gravity is the defining force that creates the movement of the sports projectiles. The commonality of all of these sports is that the ball inevitably ends up going down to earth. Anti Gravitas uses a helium balloon as the ball, and the goal is inverted so players must aim to throw the ball up into it. This new trajectory completely alters the feel and understanding of a team ball game.

If the ball misses, it sails into the sky, never to return. In order to play the game there must be tacit cooperation between the players to keep the ball somewhat on the ground, or the game disappears.

The game was first tested at the MiniTremu Festival in Timisoara, Romania, in 2023.
